We consider your access to insurance and low-cost health care an essential part of offering holistic, whole-person care.

Sliding Fees and Insurance Marketplace

We see patients without insurance based on a sliding fee scale, which is based on family size and income. Whether you have insurance or no insurance, we will see you and help you! As part of our services, we have primary care providers, eye doctors, dentists, and more that will accept Medicaid and many other insurance plans besides!

Medicaid Health Insurance Plans:

We accept most major health insurance plans including those offered by Ohio Medicaid! If you are not currently enrolled, we can help you apply for Medicaid in Ohio. These managed insurance plans are valid and effective no matter which of our locations you get seen at, be it Newark, Marysville, or our many offices in Columbus!

All of these plans are accepted at all of our different health centers: Cooper Road, Franklinton Central, German Village, Linden, Marysville (Union County), Newark (Licking County), and West Broad Street. Please note that all co-pays are due at check-in. We accept cash, check and credit card (Mastercard, Visa or Discover).

Sliding fees are available for those who qualify.

Yes, we practice comprehensive health care and therefore require all patients to see a medical doctor prior to seeing the dentist, optometrist, dietitian or behavioral health counselor.

All of our doctors, nurses and staff are paid full-time and part-time employees. All clinicians are board-certified in their specialty. We currently offer primary care level services.

Yes, when scheduling your appointment, you may specify which doctor or nurse you would like to see.

All co-pays/sliding scale fees and insurance cards (if applicable) must be provided at the time of service or you could be subject to rescheduling.

The length of an appointment varies with medical services. In general, it’s always best to have plenty of extra time in case you are referred to do lab tests, for example. Most patients should plan for one hour from check-in to check-out.

Yes, we have doctors, nurses and staff who speak other languages, and we offer interpretation services via phone and iPad as well. In addition, there are two on-site Spanish interpreters at the Health Center location in Franklinton.  Please make your language request when scheduling your appointment and we will do our best to fulfill your need. This website may be read in other languages by selecting a language of your choice in Google Translate.

Lower Lights Health provides cutting-edge, high quality primary care to all. Integrated whole person care is available for all ages and includes dental, vision, behavioral health services, pharmacy and on-site laboratory services for your convenience. Our dedicated team of board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners focus on quality care and patient satisfaction. In addition, those with private insurance help us offset the cost of treating those who are uninsured or underinsured.

To obtain a copy of your medical records, you must complete and sign an Authorization to Release Medical Record form. Please allow up to seven days to process your request.
