The Lower Lights Health Pharmacy

More than just filling your prescriptions, we are here to provide counseling and drug information services, giving you the information you need to take control of your health.

The Lower Lights Health Pharmacy fills prescriptions written by Lower Lights Health providers, with prescriptions available at a reduced cost — as low as $10 or less per prescription.

The Lower Lights Pharmacy is located inside the Health Center at the N. Yale Entrance:

1160 W. Broad Street
Columbus, Ohio 43222

Update:  our pharmacy has temporarily moved within the building to a temporary home off of the other side of the lobby, towards Broad Street.  Go through the door towards the Jubilee Market and Bleu & Fig Cafe and the pharmacy is on your right, housed in the Community Room.  The original pharmacy location in the patient check-in area is undergoing renovation over the next couple of months to better serve our patients.

Special Hours:

CLOSED Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day
(yes, OPEN 8:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 29)

What to Expect

Once a prescription is sent to the provider, patients can call the pharmacy to have it filled. The pharmacy will then inform the patient when the prescription will be filled, offering the convenience of filling a prescription at the same location as the appointment.

The pharmacy accepts cash and most major debit and credit cards.

Need to refill a prescription? Use our Patient Portal to request refills.

Pharmacy Discount Program

Patients who qualify for a sliding fee through the Pharmacy Discount Program may now fill their prescriptions at select retail pharmacies for as low as $10 a prescription.

Patients with incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty level are able to get discounted medications when they apply for a sliding fee discount. They may then fill their prescriptions written by a Lower Lights Health provider using their LLCHC Pharmacy Discount Card at the Lower Lights Pharmacy or select retail pharmacies including nine Kroger stores and Dave’s Pharmacy in Marysville plus selected CVS locations. The program allows patients to obtain many prescription medications at pharmacy locations closest and most convenient to them.

Pharmacy Hours:

Monday-Friday: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Patients of Lower Lights Health may apply for the Pharmacy Discount Program when they check in for an appointment or by meeting with a front desk receptionist at one of the Lower Lights sites. Income verification and ID is required. Your most recent income tax return is the best proof of income, but you may also bring in pay stubs (representing one month), W-2s, Social Security documents and 1099s. Please provide income for the whole household as well as how many people live in your household.

The retail network presently consists of specific Kroger locations in Columbus plus Dave’s Pharmacy in Marysville. Patients can also use the Pharmacy Discount Card at the Lower Lights Pharmacy located at 1160 W. Broad Street in Columbus.  Locations in Licking County and Healthland Pharmacy in Linden will become available on January 1.

There is a limited list of medications available at participating retail pharmacies. The medications on the list include the most difficult to obtain, and typically the most expensive medications. Some examples of covered medications are insulin and inhalers. Some medications outside of this formulary, such as common antibiotics, are often already available at discounted rates at retail pharmacies. If in doubt, ask your provider if your prescription is covered on the list available at participating retail pharmacies.

*Please note: Lower Lights Pharmacy always has the most medication options available at the lowest cost. Also, any medication substitutions are always easier at the Lower Lights pharmacy.

When a Pharmacy Discount Card is issued to a patient, it includes a group number that corresponds to the appropriate sliding fee. The card will bear a BIN and PCN number that will identify Lower Lights Health. It is the responsibility of the patient to present the card to the contracted pharmacy each time they visit the location.
