Why is testing important? — As we seek to follow guidance from the Center for Disease Control, Ohio Department of Health, and our local health departments, we have been eager to help expand testing options for our patients and our community. There is an increased focus on wider testing to more broadly identify local disease burden and limit community spread.
Who should be tested? – Testing is recommended for those who are symptomatic, or whom believe they have been exposed to someone with Covid-19, or those who live in congregate housing (such as a shelter). ANYONE may be tested.
Where and When can I be tested? – Lower Lights can work with you to determine your best option for testing from a variety of community partners.
Drive-up/walk-up testing will take place from 9am – 5 pm on Fridays (only) in front of 777 W State Street in Franklinton, one block south of W. Broad Street on the Mount Carmel campus.
Drive-up testing will take place on Tuesdays from 9am-1pm and Wednesdays and Thursdays from Noon-4pm at the Union County Health Department in Marysville.
There are other community options available — complete — complete the screening form to be directed to testing.
What is the cost? – If you have insurance, your insurance will cover the cost of the test with no copay. There is no cost for testing if you do not have insurance.
How is the test performed? — You will remain in your car (or at the walk-up station). A nurse wearing personal protective equipment will use a nasal swab to collect your sample. The sample will be sent to the lab for testing. Results will not be available on site.
Results – How will I receive my test results? You will be contacted by phone within 2-5 days of testing. It is important that you answer your phone. For those tested by LLCHC in Union County, you will only receive a phone call for a POSITIVE result. You may go to patient.labcorp.com and create an account to view your results as soon as they are posted to your secure account.
What do I need to bring with me in order to have a test performed? Please bring your insurance card (if you have insurance) and a photo id.
What if I don’t have a car? – Our testing location is outside under the drive through drop off at 777 W State Street. We will also be set up to accommodate walk-up testing.
