At Lower Lights Christian Health Center (LLCHC), our mission has always been clear: to provide whole-person, affordable healthcare for all, regardless of circumstance. Yet as we look across Columbus and all of central Ohio, the reality is that gaps in healthcare access still exist—and they affect our most vulnerable neighbors the most.
From language and cultural barriers to financial constraints and lack of transportation, many families in central Ohio still face overwhelming obstacles to receiving consistent, compassionate care. Bridging those gaps requires more than medicine; it requires community and communication. Lower Lights Health strives towards bridging all those gaps. We have multiple locations across central Ohio, offer pharmacy delivery, employ many staff members that can speak the languages of the patients we serve, and help enroll patients in Medicaid if they qualify, Lower Lights Health makes sure that health care remains convenient, affordable, and accessible for our patients.
Why Bridging the Gap Matters
When someone goes without care, the impact ripples far beyond the lost appointment. A missed dental visit can turn into a serious infection. Untreated depression can affect job performance, family relationships, and long-term wellbeing. Chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, when unmanaged, can shorten lives and strain families.
At LLCHC, we believe healthcare should never be a privilege—it should be a foundation for a thriving community. That is why we integrate medical, dental, behavioral health, vision, and wellness services under one roof, ensuring that patients receive not just treatment, but whole-person care that comprises body, mind, and spirit.
Expanding Access in Northland
One of the ways we make good on our commitment to the community is through our upcoming new Northland location. The Northland area houses a vibrant, growing population, including many immigrant and refugee families who face unique challenges accessing healthcare that we can help solve.
This expansion allows us to bring care closer to where it’s needed, creating a trusted, welcoming place for individuals and families to find support. By opening a new location in Northland, LLCHC is continuing to close the gaps that too often leave people behind.
Building Health, Empowering Community: How You Can Join Us
On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, LLCHC will host the Building Health, Empowering Community Breakfast at The Boat House in Columbus. This annual event is more than a fundraiser—it’s a gathering of people who believe that healthcare should be accessible to all.
Hosted by Matt Barnes, NBC4 Today Anchor, the breakfast will feature inspiring stories from patients whose lives have been transformed through care at LLCHC. Proceeds will directly support the opening of our Northland location and the vital work of bridging the healthcare access gap in central Ohio!
