Lower Lights Health CEO Tracy Cloud to Step Down After Eight Years of Transformative Leadership

(April 28 2025) COLUMBUS, OH — Lower Lights Health (LLH) announced today that CEO Tracy Cloud will step down from her role effective May 16, 2025, after nearly eight years of leadership. She is stepping down to pursue a new professional opportunity which reflects her continued commitment to improving health outcomes through innovative and community-focused care—on a broader, national scale.

Cloud joined Lower Lights Health nearly eight years ago, answering a call to serve communities in need of accessible, high-quality healthcare. Under her leadership, LLH grew from a $10 million organization to one with over $30 million in annual revenue, expanding its reach by more than 6,000 new patients and extending care into Licking County.

  • During her tenure, LLH achieved remarkable organizational and programmatic growth. Highlights include:
  • Renovation of German Village and the Franklinton Central Health Center, as well as an expansion of the dental and pharmacy suite at the Health Center on West Broad St.
  • Introduction of refugee health, telehealth, transportation, and Food Rx programs.
  • Expansion of Women’s Health, Dental, Spiritual Care, and Behavioral Health services.
  • A strengthened team-based care model and a notable increase in quality metrics post-pandemic, particularly in cancer screenings and chronic disease management.

“Tracy has been a visionary and servant leader, and her impact on this organization is immeasurable,” said Steffan Moody, Chair of the Lower Lights Health Board of Directors. “She has navigated change with integrity and grace—especially during the challenges of COVID—and leaves behind a strong, mission-aligned organization that is well-positioned for our next phase of growth, including expansion into the Northland area.”

Tracy’s departure comes as part of a planned transition supported by strong governance and robust succession planning. The organization has developed deep internal leadership pipelines to ensure long-term stability and mission continuity. As part of this plan, Chief Operating Officer Anton Johnson, MHA will serve as Interim CEO, ensuring a smooth leadership handoff.

“It’s been an honor to serve the mission of Lower Lights Health and I’m proud of all that we’ve been able to accomplish over the years. I’m especially grateful for our compassionate providers and team members along with the collaborative community partners we’ve developed during my time,” Cloud said in a statement. “The leadership at Lower Lights Health is both dedicated to the mission and the community, and so I leave this role trusting that Lower Lights is in good hands with our leadership team who will continue the work of high quality of care for all.”

Lower Lights Health remains steadfast in its commitment to equitable, whole-person care and looks forward to entering this exciting new chapter with confidence, stability, and vision.
