Meet the People Powering the Mission

At Lower Lights Christian Health Center (LLCHC), our mission has always been clear: every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves access to high-quality healthcare that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit. Since our founding in 2002, LLCHC has been a beacon of hope for families across central Ohio, offering whole-person care that transforms lives.

As we look toward expanding into Northland, we felt it important to turn the spotlight back onto the people behind our mission—our dedicated providers and staff—who make this vision possible. Their commitment ensures that every patient is seen, valued, and cared for, regardless of their ability to pay. Today, we’d like to introduce you to three of the incredible providers who embody this mission every day.

Dr. Alan Bock – Championing Whole-Person Care

Dr. Alan Bock gets rave reviews from patients for his friendliness and patience, as well as his holistic approach to health care that exemplifies Lower Lights’ mission. He does more than just treating symptoms—he listens deeply, cares holistically, and builds concrete trust with patients. He continuously works with patients towards attaining wholeness and nurturing not just the body, but also the mind and spirit.

Dr. Elsie Young – Leading with Compassion

As our Women’s Health Director, Dr. Young stands as a cornerstone of LLCHC’s provider team. While she consistently sets an amazing example for her team and Lower Lights as a whole, she also keeps patients informed of all the tools they can access as part of their health journey. In her own words, “ I strive to provide excellent medical care and enjoy educating my patients so they can make informed choices about their healthcare.”

Dr. Christine Nemer – Building Bridges

Dr. Nemer’s loves learning more about her patients outside of just their health care needs. She particularly enjoys serving the Latino community here in Columbus and her own background helps her connect with Spanish-speaking patients. Working towards realizing our mission energizes her and she has truly made a difference in the lives of her patients.

Why This Matters Now

The efforts of Dr. Bock, Dr. Young, and Dr. Nemer remind us that healthcare is personal. It is about relationships built on trust and respect, and it is about ensuring that every patient can live a healthier, fuller life.

October 7 at our Building Health, Empowering Community Breakfast, we will gather with partners, supporters, and community members to celebrate providers like these—individuals whose dedication transforms lives and fosters stronger, healthier communities. This event also serves as a rallying point for the future: expanding into Northland so that more families can receive the care they deserve.

Together, we can build a healthier tomorrow. Your support empowers not only providers like Dr. Young, Dr. Bock, and Dr. Nemer, but also the countless patients and families who depend on LLCHC for hope and healing. Thank you!
